My GTI made a friend.
This was at my hotel which is attached to a cheap pub a few miles away from Silverstone.
Crikey.

I saw a GT4 cayman the other day, smaller butt and sounded so good.

They are something special alright, even now the 911r is out, I’ve read that some journos prefer the GT4.
There was a DB7 in the car park here too, I bet that guy felt like a flash guy until the Porsche turned up.

It was Porsche day at the Redmond (Seattle) car get-together this morning. There was easily 100 Porsches there , it was a fun time walking around admiring the fine machines. Saw the new 718 Boxster in the flesh and really liked it, then we bounced to the Porsche dealer to pick up some stuff to do a bit of maintenance on my ‘07 Cayman.

It’s a Beetle with a snack tray on it. How convenient.

Sounds like my kinda event! I’m a fan of the 718, I think its a good upgrade in terms of looks.
I’m at the British Grand Prix tomorrow and there’ll be some Porsche support races,so should be fun.

When you look at my GTI next to it, it’s amazing to see how far VW has come from those old beetles.

I have always thought the Golf was the best laid out, best looking hatchback of the bunch. If I needed a car in that class, it’s what I’d have.

For me it’s a do everything car. Certainly better at carrying stuff and people than the 98 MX5 I had before. Over here the segment is very crowded, but the golf is better inside and outside than the Astra, Focus, Megane etc.
It does everything well, and still has enough silliness built in to keep me happy.
